Pizza Partie Part 1: Bella Pizza

So if you all don't know yet my Instagram name is @pizzapartieprincess I take pizza seriously. It's a passion. I had the question of 'Heather you love pizza, which pizza place is the best in Hamilton?'. I haven't even tried the cream of the crop of Hamilton 'za yet. So I'm taking a poll and testing out the most recommended pizza places in Hamilton and giving the pizza princess's stamp of approval AND rating which Pizza place is the best (in my humble opinion). The first place I'm reviewing is Bella. Bella Pizza is highly recommended as the best cheap greasy 'za. Before I get started though here is how I'm reviewing: on a scale from 1-5 I'll judge the sauce, cheese, crust, and over all wow factor with bonus points for garlic sauce. Which ever pizza place scores the highest, wins. So how did Bella hold up?:

Sauce: 2 - There actually wasn't much sauce on the 'za at all but when we got a taste it was almost spaghetti-ish.

Cheese: 2 - There was a lot of cheese but it was quite tough.

Crust: 3 - Slightly crispy but mostly chewy. Dece tho.

Wow Factor: 2.5 - A pizza I'd be happy to order drunk.

Garlic Sauce *bonus*: 3.5 - a good dip.

13/20

Princess Pretty Pants wanted some 'za and didn't want anything to do with my notes. Over all I'd be happy to order this 'za again although for all the hype, I was expecting to be blown away.

Next stop Chicago Style Pizza.

Before - Room Tour

I thought I'd do a room tour on the blog today. This is going to be the "before" since I'm in the process of decorating. I'd like it to look less like a dorm room by the end of this project.

When you first walk in I have a coat rack I made from an antique door and old hooks.

I have a Print by Chanel Markus that you can buy from my etsy shop listed on the blog side bar (shameless self promotion)

For now I'm using some antique doors as a head board but I'm contemplating cutting them up for shelves or tables. I'll be replacing the curtains and I'm trying to think of ways to either hide or decorate the window bars. I'd feel uncomfortable removing them since the whole building has access to the rooftop.

I love my vintage matching market table and side table.

Shilo found this vintage chair on the street and is letting me use it for my computer chair. I'm also sitting here wondering wtf is on my computer then I remembered that it's from the Abra - Fruit music video when she's crawling out of the shower. Or maybe its just porn and I'm trying to cover it up. You decide. (seriously though, I'm very obsessed with that song rn so check it out)

Some books I'm in the middle of reading and my window sill.

Yes, I'm a white girl that loves horses. Yes, I've been to horse camp. I'm very okay with being called basic about it.

My closet needs some serious TLC. I'm kind of at a stand still about what to do about it. Most of my clothes aren't even in it yet...

And lastly my gaudy antique mirror sits between my closet and the end of my bed. Also there's me looking like a need a shower. So that's that folks, I'll post an 'after' once the room is complete! Now I'm going to go shower.

Sugar Bones

Yesterday I was out at a Hamilton event that I really wanted to blog about but I got off work too late to pick up my camera before heading there. Though I won't get to blog about that I bumped into Cheyenne of Sugar Bones as I usually do when I'm drunkenly hanging around Hamilton. Cheyenne is a local artist that does the cutest illustrations. She gave me a pin and I'm in love with it! Her current work is Sailor Moon inspired!

Thank you so much for my new pin gurl! You can check out more of her stuff on her instagram @sugarbones

On Friday night I went to my friends Alisa and Johnny's house to drink Rye. We then headed to the Brew House to listen to our friend Johan DJ! Here are some party picks.

Tequila is always a.... good idea?

Heather Dates in the Hammer: Ghosting.

https://www.google.ca/search?q=ghosting&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjoq8S5sdDLAhVF_R4KHcVcAvoQ_AUIBygB&biw=1001&bih=986#tbm=isch&q=scooby+doo+ghost&imgdii=CYLlwZTC2QCggM%3A%3BCYLlwZTC2QCggM%3A%3B2cTas_Ka10wnoM%3A&imgrc=CYLlwZTC2QCggM%3A

"Ghosting is essentially a selfish way to avoid the consequences of your own actions."

I am no dating connoisseur. I have only had long term relationships that just sort of happened, but even before, I wouldn't describe anything I was doing with my love life as "dating". Re-emerging into the dating scene at 27 has certainly been an interesting and awkward learning experience. One dating trend I've come across (even since my younger days) is something we all know as "ghosting".

Ghosting, although the name has been coined recently, has been around since the dawn of courting. Some 16th Century man stealing a woman's virtue and disappearing into the night promising to "scribe her a letter sometime", is nothing new. Described essentially a slow or abrupt cutting off of someone you've met out of your life, it is also known as the "Fade Away". Talking with my single friends about the break-up tactic of ghosting, I've wondered: Is it a great tactic, or greatly insulting? Is ghosting the break up of the 21st Century?

Women and men in this day and age are both guilty of  ghosting even though advances in technology and social media has made it harder to actually disappear. Updates on Facebook, or Instagram and Snapchat has your every move documented with a little date and time posted in the corner. Obviously the person is too busy drinking with friends, taking pictures of their coffee and posting online to dump you properly or cancel plans. You can't even open a message on apps without the other person knowing that you did in fact read it and never responded.

So it begs the question: Is there an appropriate time to ghost? Is it even possible anymore? It seems as if we're settling for ghosting as the way to break up with someone. Ghosting on someone but leaving the trace online can only add insult to injury when the "ghostee" you are avoiding can see everything you post. When you say some one "ghosted" on you it insinuates that they were the ones that disappeared. Though in reality you are the one texting into the abyss and watching someone's life move on, as if you are in fact the ghost.
