It's been awhile! If you follow me on Instagram you'll know I was in Berlin late Nov to early Dec. I stayed for 10 days and had an amazing time. Of course I was on vacation so who wouldn't have a good time? I met the most amazing people, had the wildest experiences, and of course (as most do when visiting Berlin) I fell in love with the city.
I played tourist of course. Saw the wall and hung around East side Gallery as soon as I got off the plane. Then of days wandering the core neighborhoods of Berlin. I ate truffles and drank coffee in the Christmas Markets. Saw the Brandenburg Gate, and of course paid respects to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. I ran around almost every park in my area while drinking beer, and walked along the Canal. I stayed with my friend Taylor in Neukölln and became very familiar with the area and thought to myself, sitting in a cafe called 'Tennis', that I HAD to live in Berlin.
Of course there was partying and I went to the Berghain! WHAT an experience that was. I got to go into the basement of Ficken 3000 and saw some interesting things. Danced on stage with a drag queen to Brittany Spears! Also a friend from Canada contacted me and let me watch Vanna, Trash Boat, and Beartooth from side stage at Club Lido. That was the night I almost wound up in Poland without my passport and only 5 Euros in my purse. I am very grateful for watching side stage because I would not have survived that crowd. German's know how to mosh and it was so crazy to watch! When leaving Berlin I cried like a baby. I knew where I wanted to be. When I came back its all I could think about but had some attachments here that made me question if it was possible. Those issues seemed to work themselves out and now I have nothing standing in my way. SO now I'm changing the blog. I'm going to show my process of getting to Berlin and my new life in Europe. I'm so nervous and excited. See you in the Spring Germany!
